Film-crazy!

3 film-related snippets in today's post. I watched The Adventures of the Prince Achmed at the National Museum yest evening.... made by German filmmaker Lotte Reiniger, it's apparently the first animated feature to have a worldwide release; and the first surviving full-length animated feature in movie history... the National Museum commissioned a local musician to do a soundtrack for this silent animated film and it was pretty cool, cos she performed 'live', too. Was awed by how she created such a magical animation film with lotsa craft (intricate and beautiful paper cuttings) and minimum technology...
