embarked on another self-adventure to San Francisco yesterday... somehow i was pretty contented with being alone; maybe i haven't done that for a long time, the chance to just go out shopping alone with no time constraints, no worries about having not done this homework etc..
dug out my 'fun places to visit on bart' guide and saw this 'cartoon museum' and so i decided to try to get to that place.. supposedly at 3rd street and new montgomery... after 30 min of fruitlesss searching i couldn't find the place.. till some kind lady on the streets told me those two streets were actually parallel... and i finally found my cartoon museum (some tiny museum) tucked neatly in the middle of two buildings... in the end i didn't go in 'cos admission was 4 bucks.. so just browsed through the various books in the shop.. then decided to go to SF MOMA (Museum of modern art) which was just around the corner to get posters for my room... but i ended up with an unexpected find... a chair! it was a kid's paint-it-yourself chair kit on discount.. which got me really excited... the only problem being that i had to lug it all the way back home taking BART and bus. eventually i did go back to the museum shop in the evening to get it, and now it sits in my living room. unpainted still though; might not paint it in the end cos i think it looks fine as it is. haha. sometimes i am really amused by 'crazy' things i do when i really want something.

then chanced upon I-HOP (restaurant with famous yummy pancakes?) so decided to try it out for lunch. it felt a little weird, sitting in a restaurant all alone, but i guess i have a different sense of joy and satisfaction.. they had various syrups for the pancakes.. blueberry, strawberry, butter pecan but i still preferred the good old maple syrup... they were pretty good, but not fabulous i guess. i sometimes think i am a somewhat lukewarm person when it comes to things, i seldom think like this this food is REALLY good and things like that. but sometiems i do get very passionate about stuff. haha like my sudden impulse in my buying the chair.

then visited the METREON, some zai entertainment centre with many movie theatres just around the area too. shall try to watch a movie there some day. they had a "Where the Wild Things Are" themed restaurant cum kids activitiy/recreation centre on the top floor! thought it was very cute, almost bought a puzzle.. but decided i have been spending too much money... sigh. so i didn't. later walked to powell station area to do window shopping... cos everything was too expensive and i really bu she de buy and i didn't really see anything i really liked either.. it was quite funny; cos when i stepped into Abercrombie and Fitch, there was this 'hunk' baring his chest, posing right beside his poster at the entrance... and i got a mild shock when he said hello or welcome or something, cos i didn't even realize his presence. haha oops. i think that was a bit sad... maybe i am just blind. but he did look good; wonder how much it helps towards boosting sales though. haha... so that was just snippets into my AS day yesterday... =P
