for the first time ever..... i overslept and missed my jap class! aargh. this is the second time this week; on tues i intentionally skipped Jap to study for midterm; today i actually woke up at 430 am to try to read the thesis drafts i have to read by Friday, but unfortunately got so tired by around 6am that i decided to take a nap.... sigh. haven't been managing work very well this week. doesn't help that i will still have to finish reading all these thesis drafts and study for Jap quiz all by tmr. but when i put things in perspective, i have no reason at all to complain. i say this cos i watched this really depressing short documentary on undocumented Mexican workers for my Geog section this morning... millions risk their lives crossing borders and navigating through deserts just to get better jobs in the US so that they can support their families back home... (and so this documentary was on how one guy died in the process and they interviewed his family members etc) while i'm really touched how simple desires for their loved ones to have better lives can motivate these individuals to undertake such dangerous tasks; at the same time i feel extremely saddened that terrible economic circumstances forced many to have to express their love for their families in such a way.
